Two suspects in Salisbury use online application to try and rob potential buyers

Detectives are working to identify two suspects who used the online application “Letgo” to try and rob potential buyers.

On April 15, 2017 between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Salisbury police officers and detectives responded to the 400 block of Hammond Street for three separate reports of attempted robberies.

According to police, the victims initiated contact with the suspects over an online application “Letgo”. The suspects attempted to sell a vehicle as the victims met with the suspects.

The first victim realized the situation was unusual and immediately reported the incident to police.

Police say the second victim and third victim also met with the suspects and the suspects displayed what was described by the victim as a handgun, while demanding property from the victim. The both were able to flee the area to avoid the robbery.

There were no injuries reported from either of the three incidents.

Officials identify suspect number one as a black male, 25-30 years of age, short, stocky build and clean shaven and suspect number two is a black male, 25-30 years of age, tall, skinny build, armed with a handgun.

Salisbury Police would like to remind those who use online websites for transactions to use their E-Commerce Exchange Zone, at the Salisbury Police Department.
