E-Commerce Exchange Zone available at Salisbury PD

In light of recent attempted robbery incidents through online transaction websites, the Salisbury Police Department is reminding residents to use their E-Commerce Exchange Zone in an effort to avoid these types of incidents all together.

Capt. Rich Kaiser tells 47 ABC, the department's parking lot and front lobby are places residents should use for any pre-arranged transaction.

The Exchange Zone is available 24/7 and provides a safe location with protection from police personnel during the transaction.

Capt. Kaiser says this helps to avoid the possible dangers that come with online exchanges.

"You don't know who you're dealing with for instance, this Letgo app and someone trying to sell merchandise through that app. I mean it could be anybody that you're dealing with. It could be a criminal it could be just a normal person that means no ill intentions, but you know its that one person that you might be dealing with that you want to try and avoid."

He adds if that person refuses to meet at the police station then that is automatically a red flag.
