DelDOT prepares for refreezing issues and icy conditions on the road

After hard and strenuous work plowing snow off the roads, Delaware's Department of Transportation still isn't in the clear.
DelDOT says the roads are currently in better shape because the sun is helping. But right now they are working with the possibility of rain.
With the melting of snow, most of the draining systems are clogged by snow and ice so all that water is going to be sitting on the road.
Below freezing conditions combined with precipitation will create icy conditions.
DelDOT says they may be facing refreezing issues on the road, but they are ready.
DelDOT's South District Engineer, Alastair Probert, tells 47 ABC "The temperature is suppose to warm up this week so what I think that we'll be dealing with cleaning up the mess it leaves behind as the snow melts standing water stuff like that and we're well positioned if any storm happens tonight. We have 17,500 tons of salt on hand in Sussex County alone."
If you are driving, ice is something hard to prepare for. The biggest advice they have is to be extra cautious and take it slow.
