Toll rates officially drop on Bay Bridge

Starting Wednesday, motorists will see new, lower toll prices on the Bay Bridge in Maryland. The regular cash toll for two-axle vehicles will drop from $6 to $4, with the E-ZPass rate only $2.50.

Last month Governor Larry Hogan said, “Lowering taxes and tolls is what I ran on, what I promised to do, and what the people of Maryland voted for. Over the course of three years, our citizens were forced to endure dramatic and unnecessary toll increases that were unfair and overly burdensome. These toll increases were regressive tax hikes in disguise, and I was proud to end them.”

The MD Transportation Authority is expecting heavy traffic Thursday through Sunday in light of the holiday weekend. They will be opening two-way traffic operations, weather permitting.
