UPDATE: Sorting machine blamed for Eagle Recycling fire

Maryland State Fire Marshal Office’s says a mechanical malfunction is to blame for the massive flames at a recycling center in Salisbury.
According to reports, 35 firefighters from a number of stations responded to the blaze just after 2:00 PM Wednesday, which was originally thought to be coming from both a vehicle and a structure. Once on scene fire officials quickly discovered it was actually a debris fire at Eagle Recycling on West Road.
Salisbury Fire Chief Rick Hoppes tells 47 ABC the workers inside evacuated and did not suffer any injuries. However, that wasn’t the case for two fire fighters, who sustained minor injuries.
It reportedly took firefighters two and a half hours to put out the flames caused by a recycling sorting machine.
Officials say the estimated cost of loss is $5,000.
