Highlights from todays games

sports and spenser.. for our maryland teams, we are just 3 days away from the regular season. ya i can’t wait. it’s been great covering the preseason for all our squads.. getting a real chance to get to know this years teams, but i tell ya, i think i am as excited for the regular season as the players and coaches are at this points the stephen decatur seahawks are looking for a big bounce back season in 2015.. and they look like they may have the sqaud to get it done. like they may have the sqaud to get it done. it’s time to go inside the huddle and get a closer look at decatur’s team this year. track it’s a brand new year for the seahawks… and finally have a chance to forget the dissapointment of last years 2-8 season. “it’s been lingering with us pretty hard. it has to so that we can know what not to do, and know how hard to work, to get better this season.” and work hard, they have. “ready. whistle, whistle, grunting track the seahawks look, biggest, faster and stronger than they did a year ago.. and that’s not the only new thing for this group.” “there were a couple games last year we could’ve won, we just didn’t have the discipline and the intensity, to get the win. and i think they have come with a chip on their shoulder.” track some big new faces on the seahawks this year, starting with junior wide out tyree henry, who missed all of last season after breaking his foot. “he’s absorbing everything and doing a great job for us. i think once he gets a little bit more comfortable, he can be someone to be wreck end with.” “he’s a big wide receiver. i mean, out in the open, ain’t no corner back that can guard him” track the biggest change though for decatur will be felt undercenter, where the program moves on from mr. do-it-all justin meekins, to junior darion mckensie, who moves over from playing wide out a year ago. “darion has got the athletic capability, he just needs the experience of running the offense. and he doesn’t throw the ball as well as justin yet, but he runs the ball just as well.” track even with what looks to be a reloaded roster, this year the seahawks plan on letting their play speak for itself. “i believe that the way that we perform on friday nights will determine how hard we worked here and just being relentless.” the seahawks open their season at home this friday against bo-manor. and the s-u field hockey team got their season started tonight at home, when they squared off against stevenson. the gulls ranked 2nd in the country.. and showed why in this one. s-u up 2-0 already in the 2nd half before courtney jantzen comes up with the loose ball and sends it home. shortly after that…. casie preesch now off the corner, blast it home from the top of the arc. wouldve been worse too if not for gabriella brooks.. she finished with 22 saves on the day for the mustangs. but this one was all s-u. nice goal here from sam johnson as the gulls go on to take this one, 5-0. as for the shorebirds, they were taking on the crawdads tonight. a couple of rbi’s for both logan uxa & cameron kneeland helped lift them to a nice 6-3 win. and on to the bigs.. the orioles got hammered by the rays 11-2 while philly won a slugfest against the mets 14-8 and finally, the nats are in a tight one against the cardinals, currently that’s it for sports. good news is just ahead- keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc!
