off from the wallops island facility this morning to gather data from tropical storm fred. however, that didn’t happen… officials canceled the trip because tropical storm fred had significantly weakened by this morning. however officials say they will continue to monitor storms and hurricanes. this hurricane season — they’ll be testing to see if data from the global hawk can replace data collected by satellites in case a satellite goes down. the aircraft will be collecting intensity, moisture, and temperature from future hurricanes and storms this season. here’s a look at some of the stories making
