How one MD law is making it easier for couples to split

A new law enacted Thursday in Maryland could make it easier in some cases, to legally split from your spouse.

Officials tell 47 ABC the new law will no longer require married couples with no kids to have to be separated a year before getting a divorce.

“The mutual consent will only apply to people that don’t have children in common that are working together and are willing to sign an agreement and are both willing to show in court to testify that it is in fact their agreement,” said Susan Land, a local family law attorney.
