Wallops flight data coming in

Many people may have seen the sky light up Wednesday night after NASA Wallops Flight Facility successfully launched a suborbital rocket.

The main goal of the flight was to test the performance of a new and improved Black Brant motor. Scientists say preliminary indications show the motor performed as planned.

There were also four other experiments on board. One of them included 6 vapor tracers. According to NASA, 2 of those vapor tracers were supposed to remain on board and 4 were scheduled to eject.

Of those 4, 3 successfully ejected and one of them presented the planned vapor cloud which is was seen in New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, central Maryland, and in the Hampton roads area of Virginia.

47 ABC has been told that all the data from the flight has been collected and it will take weeks to months to decipher it.
