UPDATE: Arrest made in August robbery and stabbing in Camden

Troopers have made an arrest, in connection with the robbery and stabbing of a Georgetown man in August.

Delaware State Police say during their investigation into the August 24, incident, they were able to link 57-year-old Thomas Lumpkin to the crime. According to the report, it all happened around 10:30 PM, a call came into the 911 center, stating that a passerby was with on Upper King Road and Main Street in Woodside, with a man who said that he had been stabbed. Once on scene, first responders met with a 47-year-old Georgetown man, who had a stab wound to his left shoulder. He was rushed by EMS to a local hospital, where he was treated for the non-life-threatening injury.

During the investigation, Police say they learned that the Georgetown man received a ride from Federalsburg, Maryland, to Dover, with a man whom he could not identify by name. During the drive, while in the area of South DuPont Highway and Thomas Harmon Drive, Police say the driver asked for five dollars, and the Georgetown man refused, at which the man stabbed the victim, before taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim’s wallet.

The driver the continued until Upper King Road, and Main Street, in Woodside, where the driver reportedly told the victim to get out, before he drove off. Police say they later identified the driver as Lumpkin.

On Wednesday, he was arrested by the Federalsburg Police Department, and transported back to Delaware on Thursday. He was then charged with robbery first degree, assault first degree, and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Lumpkin is now being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $60,000 secured bond.
