Dagsboro residents raise questions about newly installed street sign
DAGSBORO, Del. – Dagsboro residents are raising concerns after they say the Delaware Department of Transportation installed a new traffic sign. The sign reads “No turn on red except on green arrow”. Mayor Brian Baull said in a social media post that DelDOT installed the sign without informing the town or the police department. He also said residents have raised concerns over whether this was a move to be bale to issue more citations. But Mayor Baull says that’s not the case.
47ABC did reach out to DelDOT. They sent us a statement that reads, “This change was made to improve pedestrian safety at this intersection, signal modifications were made for vehicular traffic traveling Clayton Street Eastbound making right turns onto Main Street Southbound. The right-turn on red after stop condition was removed and changed to a no turn on red, except on green arrow condition. The installation of the ground sign has been completed, and the overhead signage on the mast arm signal will occur within a couple of weeks.
