Ocean City Film Festival goes virtual for 2021
OCEAN CITY, Md. – If you’ve wanted to get out to the Ocean City Film Festival but couldn’t in the past, this year you can take it all in from the comfort of your own home. “Every year we hear people get a little upset that they can’t see everything in the festival. Now, if someone really wants to see everything in the festival, they can,” said festival Creative Director BL Strang-Moya.
The festival is selling movie passes for at-home streaming instead of their in person event. Strang-Moya tells 47ABC that going virtual was the best and safest option amid COVID-19. He says this year– film junkies can watch more than 80 films from 15 states and 11 countries. “Going virtual gives so many more people the opportunity to watch our program wherever they are, really. Only one film in our whole program is geo-blocked, and it’s still to the continental United States. Anyone in the U.S. can see the entirety of the program,” said Strang-Moya.
The festival will begin streaming on March 4th and go until the 11th. Tickets went on sale Monday, and you can buy single movie passes for ten bucks a pop or passes for multiple movies. For more information on the festival and how to buy tickets, click here.
