Easton man arrested on child pornography charges

EASTON, Md. – Easton Police detectives say they have charged an Easton man with distribution and possession of child pornography following a recent investigation.

We’re told the Easton Police Department Criminal Investigations Division assigned to the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received information about an internet user who had shared child pornography.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 37-year-old Walter Lopez-Garcia and took him into custody last Friday. Search and seizure warrants were executed at his residence as well as his vehicle, leading to the seizure of multiple cell phones. We’re told a forensic examination of the electronic equipment is continuing, with additional charges possible.

Lopez is currently being held without bond at the Talbot County Detention Center.
