House fire displaces 7 in Worcester Co.

1280 Berlin House Fire

BERLIN, Md. – The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office says a house fire left seven people homeless Monday afternoon.

We’re told the fire was reported at around 3:45 p.m., at 8336 Circle Road in Berlin. Firefighters from Berlin, Showell, Bishopville, and Willards fought the fire.

Further investigation revealed that the fire was accidental in nature and was the result of improper use of a barbeque grill. The grill was located on a deck adjacent to the house and left unattended. Seven occupants of the home have been temporarily relocated by the American Red Cross, however, we’re told the family pet did not make it.
