157 new positive cases, 6 new COVID-19 related deaths announced in Del.

SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health says an additional six people have died as a result of the coronavirus in Delaware.

To date, 310 Delawareans have died as a result of the virus. We’re told the most recent deaths ranged in age from 60 to 90 years old, with three from New Castle County, two from Kent, and one from Sussex. Five of the six individuals had underlying health conditions.

Officials are also reporting 157 new cases, bringing the state total to 8,194. Sussex County has seen 3,960 cases, with 1,253 in Kent, and 2,933 in New Castle. Currently, 220 people are hospitalized, 35 of whom are critically ill.

Nearly 4,000 Delawareans have made a full recovery from the virus.
