Local company helping homeless with a blessing box

A company in Salisbury is trying to do their part in the community by starting their own blessing box.

Anchorage Health Care Center, near downtown Salisbury, is doing what they can to help the homeless in the city.

About a month ago they started a blessing box outside of their building after seeing more homeless people around their buildings.

It's a box filled with all types of items from clothing to toiletries to non-perishable food stocked by their staff 24/7.

They tell 47 ABC it was empty within two days of building it.

"We have a lot of homelessness in Salisbury and we've noticed it and we are in the prime location to help. I think it's a good spot for it. We just really want to give back to the community so please stop by and help," says Danielle Mechalske, the Admissions Director for Anchorage Health Center.

And they are hoping for the community's help to keep it stocked. The blessing box is outside their building at 105 Times Square in Salisbury.
