Saturday, loved ones of Simpkins and the Badders’ gathered in Anne Arundel County to protest outside of the police station for what they are calling an unjust investigation.  Ava reportedly received a speeding ticket in the wake of the fatal crash, and Arianna Woodley, a friend of Badders, says “three lives are worth more than a speeding ticket.”

Woodley spoke to 47ABC about how the family has been handling the situation over the past year and she says “they’ve been so strong throughout the whole thing – but at this point they just want answers – they want justice for their daughter being taken from them – and – I mean it’s as simple as that.”
