WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) arrested a Virginia man after a traffic stop on his vehicle resulted in the seizure of more than 145 grams of marijuana.

Deputies arrested 27-year-old Shane Dalton Kellam of Exmore on charges of possession of a handgun in a vehicle, possession of cannabis with intent to distribute, and related charges. He was released after posting an unsecured personal bond of $5,000.

At 3:35 p.m. on Oct. 29, a Wicomico deputy reportedly observed a white Lincoln Town Car make a left turn across multiple lanes of traffic, nearly causing a collision. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the Lincoln, and contacted the driver, later identified as Kellam.

During the investigation, deputies observed drug-related paraphernalia and discovered a loaded Glock .45-caliber handgun inside the vehicle. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle with assistance from the Maryland State Police and a WCSO K-9 unit, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 145.59 grams of suspected marijuana, digital scales, and two cellular phones. Kellam was arrested and transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center for processing.
