One Airlifted After Car Collides with Tree in Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. – One person was airlifted for treatment following a serious car crash in Harrington in the early hours of Thursday morning.

At 1:27 a.m. on Aug. 13, the Harrington and Felton Community Fire Companies responded to a vehicle crash with unknown injuries on Little Mastens Corner Road, in the area of Paradise Alley Road. Upon arrival, crews located a single-vehicle crash, in which the car had exited the roadway and struck a tree, trapping an occupant inside.

Crews quickly stabilized the vehicle, removing the doors and roof, as well as posts on both sides to free the trapped driver. Once extricated, the patient was moved to an awaiting ambulance where they were further evaluated before being transferred to a Delaware State Police aviation unit. They were then transported to a trauma center for further treatment.

Command placed the incident under control a short time later, and units cleared the scene.
