Sussex Co. officials stress hurricane preparedness as season approches

Be prepared to weather the storm. That’s what Sussex County officials are warning as we enter hurricane season.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season officially begins this Wednesday, June 1st.

We’re told the season should be a ‘near-normal’ one. Even so, just like last year’s below average season, damage was still done.

To prevent injuries or even death, the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center says have an evacuation plan in place, secure all outdoor items and prepare a family disaster kit with things like blankets, water, food and clothes for several days.
