Easter Weekend & Salisbury Marathon in this Week’s City Minute

SALISBURY, Md. – Ahead of the Easter holiday on Sunday, there are egg hunts, services, meals, and events going on all over the City of Salisbury and across the Eastern Shore.
As part of that, City offices are closed on Friday – but the Salisbury Zoo will remain open all weekend! And on Saturday, the City of Salisbury is ready to run!
The annual Salisbury Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K races return to Downtown Salisbury this coming Saturday, Apr. 4. The event promises an exciting day of athleticism, energy, and community spirit!
Spectators encouraged to come out and cheer on participants. However, attendees are advised to stay informed about road closures and plan their routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience. The following roads and park areas within city limits will be closed:
Friday, Apr. 3, beginning at 1:00 p.m.:
- The Downtown Plaza (West Main Street from Market Street to Division Street) will be closed for event setup
Saturday, Apr. 4, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.:
- Main Street from Lake Street to Court Street
- West Market Street from Main Street to Circle Ave.
- Camden Street
- Carroll Street from Waverly Drive to the traffic circle
- Division Street from Route 50 to Circle Ave.
- Mill Street from Church Street
- Riverside Drive will be limited to local traffic
Additionally, South Park Drive near City Park will be closed from Beaver Dam Drive to Snow Hill Road from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
