SALISBURY, Md. – Join us, and Dale the Ocelot, for Ocelot SAFE Day at the Salisbury Zoo on Saturday, Mar. 14.

These free celebrations spotlight incredible animals like the ocelot and the conservation efforts working to protect them in the wild. Each Conservation Day is unique and focuses on either a SAFE program the Zoo participates in—or a special animal they want to highlight. Guests can enjoy keeper talks, special enrichment, educational presentations, hands-on games, crafts, and more—all while learning how conservation helps species like ocelots thrive.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to support ocelot conservation by donating directly to the featured SAFE program and helping protect these amazing cats in the wild. Come celebrate, learn, and make a difference for wildlife!

While this week’s St. Patrick’s Day Tea at Poplar Hill Mansion is sold out, a new exhibit is coming to the mansion’s doorstep. On Apr. 1 at 5:00 p.m., attend a free event to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, and view the newest exhibit, Long May It Wave: The Evolution of the American Flag and American Symbolism. This event will include light refreshments and music.

Many of our local religious institutions are having special dinners this weekend, and many of our local restaurants will also have special meals, drink specials, and anniversary celebrations. For example, the Greene Turtle here in Salisbury will have some deals, as well as Hoppers Tap House, which is celebrating their 10th year. Whatever you do—have a safe and fun St. Patrick’s Day weekend!
