DEVELOPING: Wilmington University Closes All Campuses for Safety Concern

DELAWARE – Wilmington University has closed all of its campuses, effective immediately, due to a reported safety concern.

In an alert sent out at 2:34 p.m. on Monday, the school said they were closing their campuses “out of an abundance of caution.” Students and faculty are instructed to leave campus at this time, and all classes and services will be transitioned to online learning for the remainder of the day. Normal operations are expected to resume Tuesday morning, Jun. 23.

“All students, faculty, staff and visitors currently on campus should leave immediately and follow any instructions provided by University officials or law enforcement,” the alert stated. “Please do not report to campus until normal operations resume.”

While Wilmington University’s main campus is located in New Castle, Delaware, secondary campuses located in Wilmington and Dover. The school also has partner programs with colleges in New Jersey and Maryland.
