Ocean City Provides Update on Snow Response

OCEAN CITY, Md. – After Sunday night’s blizzard brought more than a foot of snow to Ocean City, the beach town is hard at work to clear the streets.

Town officials say that Public Works crews are actively working alongside the Maryland State Highway Administration to plow and treat roadways throughout Ocean City. Residents are reminded that road conditions may still be hazardous, and travel should be limited to essential needs at this time. Further, the downtown area is currently experiencing reports of scattered power outages, and some traffic lights are not operational. Utility partners have been notified and are working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

Additionally, the town’s municipal bus service was slated to be restored beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 23. Riders should expect a longer-than-normal interval between buses until later in the day.

“Our teams are actively assessing roadways, infrastructure, and critical services throughout the Town to ensure we have a clear understanding of storm impacts and can prioritize response efforts where they are needed most,” said Deputy City Manager JR Harmon.

Emergency officials continue to monitor conditions and are working throughout town to assess impacts from the storm.
