Discover Delmarva Arts: Rock & Roll Revival back for its 27th year
SALISBURY, Md. – Rock & Roll Revival is back at the James Bennett Auditorium for its 27th year.
Performance director Lauren Bailey said throughout the cast you’ll find some newbies, some veterans, and a whole lot of excitement.
“They love the music and every aspect of it, whether you’re in the band, you’re singing, you’re dancing, or if you’re on the stage crew, there’s something for everyone. I think they really gravitate towards that,” Lauren said.
And it’s a performance with a purpose Jenni Pastusak with the Wicomico County Education Foundation said a portion of the money from ticket sales will go right back into the school district to keep programs alive.
“We just look at the other stuff,” Jenni said. “Dr. Stauffer, we meet with him, and we say, ‘Hey, what do you need?’ and he tells us and we go and we raise money.”
As the students get ready for opening night on Friday, Lauren encouraged the community to come out and support their local performers and be sent back in time to listen to some classic rock and roll hits.
“The adrenaline that they get when the audience claps for them, it’s a smile that you probably wouldn’t see anywhere else,” Lauren said. “When we do our school shows and there’s 800 elementary school students cheering for them, the energy is indescribable; it’s amazing.”
