Salvation Army Hoping for Miracle on Last Day of Red Kettle Drive
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – With Christmas only a couple of days away, the Salvation Army is finishing up their iconic Red Kettle Drive. And in Dorchester County, they’re hoping for a miracle.
Wednesday will be the final day of the drive, Major David Lorenzo says they’ve raised around $67,000, which is short of their $100,000 goal.
He says he’s hoping that if anyone sees the red kettles across the Mid-Shore that people will be able to lend a hand on Wednesday.
“We have today. Tomorrow is going to be a short day. We’re just praying for a miracle something happened so we could at least get closer to that, gold that we can place…” says Lorenzo.
Major Lorenzo says between the fluctuating severe weather and sickness going around, not all volunteers were not able to make it out to ring the bell.
