Local group partners with shelter to provide Thanksgiving meal

Nothing screams Thanksgiving, but a good home cooked meal. However for folks who are less fortunate, a Thanksgiving dinner is not always possible, that’s why folks from Extraordinary Group of Gentlemen, a local community group, is partnering with HALO Ministries for an event called “Operation Belly-Full”.
The purpose of this event is to provide a Thanksgiving meal to those living in the shelter or are in need. Right now the group is asking for donations from the community such as home cooked meals and store bought goods to serve during dinner.
Jermichael Mitchell, the Vice President of Extraordinary Group of Gentlemen, tells 47 ABC, through this event they hope to bring those in need a little holiday cheer.
“Basically feed them a meal that they normally wouldn’t get. They usually get a meal every night but we wanted to make this a special meal so we bring outside desserts, we have good home cooked meal for them from different people of our community,” says Mitchell.
The Thanksgiving meal will be Tuesday, November 22nd from 6 to 8 P-M at HALO in Salisbury, and group leaders tell us there is still room for folks to volunteer and help serve the day off the event.
