Dorchester Co. Preparing for Christmas Parade
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The City of Cambridge is getting ready for their annual Christmas Parade this weekend.
The Parade has been going on for over 75 years through Downtown Cambridge, and organizers are hoping for a combination of good weather and a large turnout.
The theme for this year’s event is “Surfing into Christmas”, featuring a tropical atmosphere, with more than 100 floats.
Co-Chairman, Bruce McWilliams is hoping for thousands to show up this weekend.
Bruce tells WMDT, “Fingers crossed for good weather, but it’s all for the kids and the families. We do have families come in. We line the streets with maybe as many as 5000 people who will come in to see the parade. So it is a family event. It’s always the first Saturday in December, and it’s one of the things we pride ourselves on.”
The parade kicks off this Saturday December 6th in Cambridge at 5 P.M.
