Car Crash Knocks Down Telephone Pole in Pocomoke City
POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – The Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company responded to a single-vehicle crash that knocked down a telephone early Saturday morning.
At 12:49 a.m. on Nov. 22, crews responded to a crash on the 2200 block of Old Snow Hill Road. Upon arrival on the scene, firefighters found a single-vehicle crash with a telephone pole cut in half with wires down, and the pole on top of the vehicle.
Crews say driver self-extricated prior to units arriving on-scene. He was evaluated by Pocomoke City Emergency Medical Services, but declined transport to an area hospital.
Delmarva Power responded to the scene and successfully removed the wires from the roadway prior to beginning the process of replacing the pole and restoring power.
