Celeration of cultures observed at Salisbury Univ.

It was a celebration of cultures on Wednesday at Salisbury University.

It was the 22nd annual Multicultural Festival Day at the campus. The theme this year is "Take A Walk In Our Shoes".

An organizer tells us this message of tolerance and unity is especially important now in light of recent events nationally and internationally.

Performers included steel drum bands and Andean music. Vendors were also invited to sell their products.

One vendor, Denise Helou, says she started selling handmade products about 20 years ago. The owner of the Pink Giraffe in Ocean City says many of her products now are from India and other countries.

"When you have like groups of student groups or activities or music, that helps to bring out more students in one period of time, so it can be good," says Helou.

The Prince Street Elementary School step team was scheduled to perform at this year's festival.
