Tractor-trailer driver arrested after ramming other vehicle on Route 50, police say

EASTON, Md. – Easton Police responded to a scary situation on Ocean Gateway on Thursday morning.

Around 7:39 a.m. on Thursday, police say the driver of a Hyundai Sonata called for help on the side of Route 50 at Dover Road. The caller said a tractor-trailer had hit the rear of their vehicle, backed up, and hit the vehicle again. Police say the tractor-trailer hit the victim’s vehicle a third time, pushing it into another lane. The truck continued driving, and police say they received several other calls about the same tractor-trailer “all over the roadway.”

The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office and Cambridge Police stopped the tractor-trailer on Route 50 at Wood Road in Cambridge. 33-year-old David Dziergowski Jr. of Glen Burnie, Md. was arrested. He is being held at the Talbot County Detention Center.
