Suspect arrested after Dover stabbing injures two
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that injured two over the weekend.
Just before 2:00 p.m. on Oct. 24, officers responded to the 900 block of Whatcoat Drive for a reported stabbing. Officers located two 32-year-old male victims suffering from stab wounds to their upper bodies. Both were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, with one victim requiring emergency treatment for injuries considered to be life-threatening.
Police say their investigation determined that the suspect became involved in a verbal altercation with one victim before producing a concealed instrument, believed to be a knife, and stabbing him twice. The second victim approached the suspect and was also stabbed. Detectives identified the suspect, identified as a 29-year-old Dover man, and obtained warrants for his arrest.
On Oct. 28, authorities took the suspect into custody in Smyrna without incident. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $151,000 cash bond on two counts of first degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
