JTVCC correctional officers suing two former Delaware governors

Hostages from the fatal inmate uprising at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center are now suing two former Delaware governors for damages.
Five hostages and the family of Lt. Floyd appeared with attorneys Tuesday morning in Wilmington to announce the lawsuit. The complaint charges that for 16 years, former Governors Jack Markell and Ruth Ann Minner failed to employ enough officers to safely run Delaware prisons.
Notably, the lawsuit details how the former governors and the State of Delaware failed to listen to the advice given following an independent investigation into a 2005 incident at JTVCC where a civilian was raped by an inmate.
The attorneys said the plaintiffs were still too traumatized to speak publicly and would not be giving statements.
