Two people arrested on drug charges in East New Market

Dorchester County deputies say two people were arrested on drug charges in East New Market.

54-year old Norman Meyer and 46-year-old Francis Long were arrested after allegedly being caught trying to snort a white powdery substance.

Last Friday, deputies responded to the Volunteer Fire Department after a member reported the pair. When the suspects were confronted, deputies say they fled the scene in a Burgundy Mustang but were stopped.

A K-9 scan of the car reportedly revealed morphine, oxycodone and fentanyl without a prescription along with a plastic straw.

Meyer and Long were both at the firehouse assisting with a private party. They were charged with drug possession and released by a court commissioner.
