Unofficial results: Alonna Berry snags Del. RD 20 seat
SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. – Unofficial results are in for the special election in Delaware’s 20th Representative District.
Voters have chosen Democrat Alonna Berry to fill the vacant seat in Legislative Hall. Tuesday night, she earned 4,653 votes, while Republican opponent Nikki Miller came in second with 4,532 votes.
A resident of Milton, Berry campaigned on education, housing and healthcare, as well as criminal justice reform, among other issues.
The election comes months after former Rep. Stell Parker Selby suffered a stroke, and subsequently resigned from office. Tuesday’s results are unofficial.
Delaware’s 20th Representative District covers Lewes, Milton, Nassau, and parts of Harbeson and Georgetown.
