Berlin hosting Cancer Research Awareness Day Saturday

BERLIN, Md. – Saturday, Berlin will come together for Cancer Research Awareness Day.

During the free and family-friendly event, health care advocates and local organizations will highlight cancer prevention, support and research.

The day will include a community prayer and testimonials, as well as remembrance and reflection, live music and food.

Some of the featured participants include the American Cancer Society and Atlantic General Hospital.

“It is purposeful recognition and praise and reflection of those that have beaten cancer, those that are maybe dealing with cancer and those who have lost people to cancer and to learn about the things we can do now to take some of the pain we’ve experienced and turn it into purpose,” said Zsavelle Smack, Worshipful Master of Lincoln Lodge #53.

The event takes place tomorrow from 12 to 3:30 pm at Henry Park, located at 125 Flower Street in Berlin.

For those of you with a competitive side, there will be a corn hold tournament at 4:30.

The day is put on by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland, in partnership with Lincoln Lodge #53.
