Flooding affecting residents in Wico. Co.

On Friday,  SHA  closed parts of Route 13 in Salisbury due to flooding. 47 ABC spoke to folks throughout Wicomico County on how they are dealing with the the damage caused by the flooding.

Friday morning, car after car kept getting stuck on the intersection of Rt. 13 and Priscilla.
“I’ve seen it here before in this same area but never as bad. I don’t see why they are taking a chance. It’s not worth it because you will end up with a tow bill,” says Clarence Wallace from Salisbury, MD/

In other parts of Salisbury, one resident from Canal Woods apartment complexes was checking on the buildings that were evacuated by residents when the rain began Thursday morning. 47 ABC caught up with Eric Brumburgh,  who tells us how he helped his friend evacuate.

“I have a canoe here so we like had to put things in the canoe to help them out,” says Brumburgh.

City officials announced that voluntary evacuation has been lifted, and once the water starts to recede, the affected buildings will be evaluated for structural damage.
Elsewhere in Wicomico County, officials tell 47 ABC they are working on restoring roads around the county.

Friday afternoon,  public works, was pounding asphalt millings to stabilize the embankment for one of their most high risk dams. SHA officials tell us they are in the process of clearing up debris, such as fallen trees and evaluating the roads. In the meantime they are advising folks to take precaution while driving.
