Dover takes down St. Andrew’s, advances to quarterfinals

DOVER, Del.- Dover dominated St. Andrew’s in the DIAA tournament 58-34, Thursday night in Dover.

Struggling early, Dover found their rhythm late in the first half. In the third quarter the Senators expanded their lead, outscoring St. Andrew’s by a margin of 10. The Senators would finish strong in the 4th, going on to win 58-34.

The performance was lead by guard Jay’Vion Denis with the team’s high of 16 points. Adding to the lead the next top scorers was Chase Little with 10 and Kareem King with 8.

After the game we asked guard Jay’Vion Denis about his team’s performance and how they handled the bye week:

We do yoga every single day,” Said Denis. “Thirty minute stretch, ice baths every day with Jared our trainer. The first quarter we were down a little, offense wasn’t going, defense, our pressure. So coach told us in the halftime, play better defense, pressure up, get back 94 feet and just press, hands and ready.”

Dover advances to the quarterfinals where they will play Salesianum on March 2nd at DSU.
