Ocean Pines classic car show and parade

Ocean Pines Chamber of commerce hosted their 4th annual fundraising car show at Veteran’s Memorial park. And the community showed up in droves to support it.
“This is a 1940 Mercury convertible,” said the owner Bud Patrick. “It’s been completely customized. The top has been chopped, leaned back, all leather interior in it with new custom fenders.”
“I call her Tweety Bird,” said David Cherry. ” She’s a 1923 ford frame and the body is ford but everything is Chevrolet – Chevrolet everything!”
Cherry tells us a lot of people have cars but they don’t use them but he and his wife take their custom ride out every weekend because they don’t Cherry says his sons will think they can have it.
There are sixty vehicles here and the money used to register is going to Ocean Pines’ chamber of commerce to help improve their community’s resource center.
It’s a great way for businesses to come together as a community and network with each other it also provides our community residents,” said Ginger Fleming. ” It’s also a nice base of what businesses are around to help them with their daily lives.”
Five vehicle categories entered into the show; Classic, Antique, modern, custom, and hot rod but only 3 owners are walking away with a plaque for first second or third place. There were also vendors there serving kettle corn, iced ice cream, and chili dogs for everyone that joined the event.
