Lions girls soccer shuts out Clippers, 4-0

The Queen Anne’s County High School Lions girls soccer team shut out the Bennett High School Clippers 4-0 tonight.
The Lions were dominant on both sides of the pitch. Annabelle Hoffman took a sharp shot from in front of the goal, but net minder Emma Hill came up with the stop for Queen Anne’s. Amelia Hill made a nice stop as the ball was in front of the Clippers goal with forwards putting pressure on. Then, Lauren Frank redirected a ball from the midfield to find the back of the net, putting the Lions up 3-0. Kaytlyn Steigerwald sent a ball from the outside to Madison Ascione, who buried it for a score, giving Queen Anne’s the 4-0 lead. The Clippers tried to respond with less than three minutes left to play, as Annabelle Hoffman took a sharp shot, but Hill came up with the save.
The Lions head to Wicomico on Monday while the Clippers host Easton on Tuesday.
