As the waves crashed down at the Ocean City inlet Tuesday groups gathered to watch the massive waves.

Some storm watchers estimated that waves got up to near 15 feet at some points during the day.

47 ABC caught up with a few storm watchers who braved the cold conditions to get a closer look.

"Earlier this morning they were huge, like they were crashing over top of the end of the pier out there. Must have been at least 15-20 foot waves, it was kind of crazy," said Alex Smoot, who was visiting Ocean City during his spring break from Ohio State.

"We just wanted to see the waves from a safe distance," said Ocean Pines resident Debbie Stubblebein,"I think they're crazy. I love it."
