Federalsburg man charged with heroin possession after Cambridge traffic stop

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says members of the Dorchester County Narcotics Task Force arrested two people after a traffic stop in Cambridge on Tuesday.
Police say members of the Task Force stopped a vehicle on Suburban Drive near Center Street after observing a traffic violation. The vehicle's driver reportedly gave a false name to the officers, who later learned she was wanted in Talbot County.
A Cambridge Police dog positively alerted police to the scent of narcotics and officers conducted a search of the vehicle, officials said. Drug paraphernalia was found and the vehicle's passenger, 24-year-old Desmond Jarrell Hudson of Federalsburg, was arrested.
As Hudson was being processed at the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, police say they found that he had 3.2 grams of heroin, 1.2 grams of cocaine and two unidentified yellow capsules in his possession.
Hudson is charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and possession of paraphernalia. Police say he was released by a court commissioner.
The driver was transported to Talbot County, officials said.
Officials say Cambridge Police, Hurlock Police, Maryland State Police and the Dorchester County State's Attorney's Office all assisted the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office on this case.
