The Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company says they responded to a fire in Hurlock early Friday morning at a building that housed three different businesses.

At around 5 AM, firefighters responded to Harrison Ferry Road. Fire officials say it took approximately 45 minutes to control the fire, which resulted in a partial structure collapse of the building. Multiple units assisted, including firefighters from East New Market and Secretary.

Off the three companies that call the building home, Shore Utilities suffered the worst damage. Several trucks were destroyed in the blaze.

"It's heartbreaking and you know just everything that you have, gone," Shore Utilities owner Greg Bryan said. "You just have to go start again. Nobody got hurt–that's all that matters."

Officials say there were no reported injuries and it is currently unknown if anyone was in the building during the time of the fire. Deputy State Fire Marshal Kirby Travers was on the scene as investigators were looking for the cause of the fire.

"We are aware that the property had interior video cameras," Deputy State Fire Marshal Travers said. "We are in the process of trying to get that retrieved."

Investigators hope that will allow them to put all the pieces together and come up with a cause.

As for Shore Utilities, Bryan tells 47 ABC he plans on having a storage trailer on the property for now in order to keep the business going.
