Salisbury University MASMI Center hosts ‘non-traditional’ job fair for students

SALISBURY, Md. – At Salisbury University, they turned the tables, having the employers give their elevator pitches to the future employees.
The MASMI Center held a job fair, where students took the lead, listening to career pitches from over a dozen potential employers on the hunt for the perfect match.
Orkin Recruiter, Halle Ellis, said this gives companies the perfect opportunity to get to know the students, while giving the students a chance to get a feel for what each job has to offer.
“Coming to these events and being able to talk to students, explain who you are, why you’re here; I think kind of helps them become more comfortable in what’s out there,” Ellis said. “I’m old fashioned, so I like to meet them face to face and have a conversation.”
The next fair will be held this coming fall.
