City of Salisbury announces public comment period on Comprehensive Plan

SALISBURY, Md. – The city of Salisbury is asking for public comment on its comprehensive plan.

The plan helps to guide the city’s development process and framework for the next decade.

Mayor Randy Taylor tells us they do not expect any major deviations from the established patterns for new businesses, but they are pushing for more transparency on hearings and encourage the public to come out and make their voices heard.

“All these rules come out subtly as projects occur, so what we need to do is make sure that we have a good set of rules, a good set of guidelines before we have people up in arms,” Taylor said, adding that would mean “sufficient facilities sufficient parking, accessible and permanent parking, particularly as it relates to the municipality or downtown.”

The first public hearing is set for January 17 from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Salisbury Fire Department headquarters, with the next set to be announced for 30 days after the initial meeting.
