Sussex Academy advances to state championship game

MILFORD, Del.– Sussex Academy defeated Indian River in a final score of 2-1 on Wednesday night to advance to the DIAA state championship game.

Indian River would be the ones to get on the scoreboard first with a goal from Junior forward Leo Chester. Sussex Academy would respond on a corner kick from Andres Romero-Nieto to tie it up at 1-1 right before halftime.

The Seahawks would nail the dagger with less than 10 minutes in the game with a goal from Senior forward Andree Mendoza-Martinez.
