MSP offering reward for tips on Salisbury homicide suspects

Maryland State Police announced Tuesday that they are now offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information from the public that leads to the arrest of a suspect involved in the December 26th homicide of James Edward Joyce in Salisbury.

Police say there may be more than one suspect involved in the shooting death of the 31-year-old Salisbury man.

The incident happened shortly after 9:30 that evening at a two-story apartment in the 700 block of Baker Street. Police say the shooting happened during a violent home invasion, though they are not certain if Joyce was the intended target.

Joyce's mother, 56-year-old Hilda Barkley, was also shot in the invasion. Barkley was treated at Peninsula Regional Medical Center for her gunshot wounds and later released, police said.

Police urge anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Solvers of the Lower Eastern Shore at 410-548-1776.

Calls may remain confidential, police said.
