Horse rescued in Ellendale

ELLENDALE, Del. – Crews helped rescue a horse that was stuck in the mud Wednesday night.

Just before 10 p.m., crews responded to a large animal rescue in the 19000 block of Milton Ellendale Highway to find a horse down in a field. Assistance was requested from the Sussex County Technical Rescue Team and Kent County Technical Rescue Team, who worked with crews from Ellendale and Lincoln City stations and a veterinarian on scene.

We’re told crews remained on scene until after midnight before clearing.
