ARPA funds to help build new library for Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. – Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester today highlighting the current improvements at the Harrington Public Library and the new improvements that are on their way.

That’s because Harrington is set to receive a brand new state-of-the-art library thanks to federal funds set aside by the American Rescue Plan Act.

The building will expand capacity, offer more technology, and have an auditorium and common area that could be used to hold town council meetings.

The Congresswoman says these are the exact projects the American Rescue Act Capital Projects Fund was created to help support.

“They are going to go from a 2,500-foot facility to 15,000, so they’ll be able to serve more people, more young people, and have access to books and education they will be going from operating in a former funeral home to a state of the art facility,” Rep. Blunt Rochester said adding that its a facility that the people of Harrington deserve to have access to.

Congresswoman Blunt Rochester says the project got 5.6 million dollars out of 40 million that was allocated statewide for library improvements.
