Maryland roads treated before weekend wintry mix

The Maryland State Highway Administration announced Friday that they are pretreating roads and bridges in advance of weekend wintry precipitation.
The system, which is expected to arrive early Saturday morning, has the potential to bring sleet, freezing rain and snow.
"This system will have a greater impact on the metro area beginning as snow, but transitioning to sleet and freezing rain during the afternoon, and that will make driving treacherous," said Gregory Johnson of the SHA.
SHA officials say road conditions in the state can be checked online at the SHA website.
